We are a small land-based vineyard and winery; all of our wines come from fruit grown on our Certified Organic 10 acres on Denman Island. We have a mixed farm which includes Clun Forest sheep, a large flock of laying hens and a propagating greenhouse with nursery. The vines are all on the south facing side of the property sharing some space with Thornless Blackberries and Blueberries.

This means we are located in one of the major wine-growing regions in British Columbia a fact attributable to the region’s extended growing hours and long, hot and dry summers.

Traditionally, scrumpy is fermented from apples stolen or “scrumped” from farmers’ fields. Derived from an unruly blend of apples, scrumpy is a uniquely flavourful cider, high in alcohol, and typically made and consumed by the working class.

Living and working on Pender Island, Coast Salish territory, we are a farm-based cidery specializing in natural fermentation, using heirloom variety apples and pears we hand-pick and shake out of the many tall, old fruit trees growing around Pender Island. We also use heirloom apples from Mayne Island, other Southern Gulf Islands, and Vancouver Island, as well as apples from Wollenberg Farms in Keremeos for our draught-only blend.
